SNCR Fellow & Best Practices Committee member Todd Defren recently issued a call for social media press release case studies on his blog. The Society for New Communications Research would like to support Todd in his search and gather your samples of social media releases and case studies or insights.
· PR pros and communications professionals: Have you tried using a social media press release? How did it go? Why did you try it; what were you trying to accomplish? Was it worthwhile? What was the reaction from your colleagues, bosses, media contacts, bloggers?
· Journalists/Bloggers: Have you received or seen a Social Media Release? Did you find it valuable? Would you like to see them used more often? Why or why not? What elements could improve them?
Our Vendor Council members from the wire services will also be contributing examples, case studies and supporting us in this initiative.
From this effort we hope to be able to help identify some best practices, create a resource of samples and case studies for the profession as an educational tool, interview PR professionals using this new tools for podcasts and webinars and invite them to participate in future SNCR events. In addition, we hope to be able to support our Organizational Affiliate, Social Media Club in its efforts to establish a social media release standard.
